Abstract矿物的多型是层状结构矿物的固有特征,由于层与层之间的滑移和旋转使其堆垛重复方式的不同而形成多型。多型普遍存在于辉钼矿、石墨、硅灰石、云母、伊利石、绿泥石、高岭石等层状结构矿物中,对于探究矿物和地质体的成因和寻找有用元素具有一定的标型意义。例如白云母产出在花岗岩和喷出岩中多为1M型,伟晶岩中多为2M_1型,热液矿床中为1M_d、1M和2M_1型,沉积岩中主要为1M和1M_d型,变质岩中为1M、3T和2M_1型(薛君治,1991;罗谷风,2014)。
